When you use your computer, several programs may leave traces of their activity. For instance, some applications need to extract installation files during the setup process but forget to erase them when the process is over. Various editors of different types will also create temporary files that may remain in your disks. Web browsers and downloaders also leave unnecessary files.
Disk Space Recovery Wizard will help you optimize your storage space by detecting these “junk” files. The interface is very easy to operate. Two utilities are available; the first will let you carry out the main task of cleaning your disk and the second will optimize your system.
To use the disk cleaner, you just need to push the corresponding button, and then select a drive to scan and specify the search criteria. In this respect, you may choose to find all junk files (full system scan) or to filter the results by specifying the type of file you want to clean. After that, you can proceed to scan the drive. I was surprised to find out how much disk space I had been wasting. Unfortunately, the trial version does not allow cleaning those files.
To optimize your system, select the tool from the left panel and push the Optimize button. The developers claim this action will make applications load faster, reduce time to switch between two applications, close non-responding programs more quickly and increase browsing speed. Once the optimizing process has finished, the program will ask you to re-start the system.
In general, Disk Space Recovery Wizard is a useful application that will help you find and eliminate 84 different file types including bak files, log files, old, temp, gid, fts, setup redundancy, lost clusters, etc.
